DESCRIPTION:

45 year old woman with significant family history of breast cancer who underwent genetic testing and found to have BRCA 2 gene mutation. She underwent laparoscopic removal of her ovaries. She also elected to undergo bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy and reconstruction using her own tissue. She desires to be the same breast size. Her breast reconstruction journey included

Surgery 1: bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy and immediate reconstruction using DIEP flaps

Surgery 2: Minor revisions and abdominal scar revisions.
