Aging around the eyelids is one of the first thing that prompt patients to seek the advice of a plastic surgeon. Women may begin to have difficulty evenly applying makeup to the upper lid due to excess redundant skin and bulging fat. For men, they may notice the excess skin making them look “tired,” despite a full night’s rest. In Dr. Goldberg’s experience, patients are very satisfied with eyelid lift surgery because eyelid surgery improves the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, and gives a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding area, making you look more rested and alert.
Eyelid surgery is designed to correct loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper & lower eyelid. In the same surgery, Dr. Goldberg removes excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelids. Often, patients will require surgery for the upper and lower lids to remove excess skin in both lids and remove bags under the eyes. She can also correct droopiness of the lower eyelids (showing white below the iris or colored portion of the eye).
